International Earth Building Workshop, France

The focus of this year’s international and intercultural festival is the Terra world congress in nearby Lyon. The aim of the project seminar is to explore earth’s qualities as a sustainable material in combination with different aggregates.

We will examine and undertake experimental building and design in preparatory lectures and in hands-on practical workshops during the project week at the Grands Atelièrs in Villefontaine, France. The seminar will also take a closer look at the leading examples of earth building showcased in the Terra Award 2016.

The seminar is open to all students in the architecture, interior architecture and civil engineering BA and MA courses at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, as well as students of other universities and other interested persons.
