The LEHM 2016, the 7th international conference on building with earth, will take place in Weimar, Germany, and covers a wide variety of topics, ranging from case studies of current earth building projects, new technological developments in building with earth and the establishment of norms, training and education in earth building, and current research and sustainability in earth building practice around the world. The conference closes with field trips in the earth building region around Weimar.
Every four years the Dachverband Lehm e.V. (DVL), the German Association for Building with Earth, organises an international conference and trade fair on building with earth in a different earth building region in Germany together with an excursion in the region.
The DVL is pleased to announce that the LEHM 2016, the 7th international conference on building with earth, will take place from the 12 – 14 November 2016 in Weimar, the cradle of German Classicism, birthplace of the Bauhaus and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
From 10 – 12 November 2016, directly preceding the LEHM 2016, is the denkmal 2016 European Trade Fair for Conservation, Renovation and Restoration in Leipzig, which includes a specialist section on earth building. The LEHM 2016 has been timed so that conference visitors can combine their trip with a visit to the trade fair where they can see the most recent developments in the field of earth building first-hand.
The LEHM 2016 will encompass the conference with presentations and poster session on 12 – 13 November 2016 and an excursion on 14 November 2016. The conference programme will cover the following topics:

- Current research in earth building
- Training and education in earth building
- Sustainability in earth building
- Contemporary earth building
- Earth building in renovation
Call for Papers
Abstract submissions for conference presentations and poster sessions are open to all interested professional colleagues. The presentations, papers and poster session contributions will be published in the conference proceedings accompanying the conference.
